Fiumicino International Airport, commonly referred to as Leonardo da Vinci airport (IATA Code: FCO) is the primary gateway for travellers into the city of Rome (Roma) in Italy, and is among those with the highest transit of passengers within Europe. It is located 32 kilometres away from the city centre and the iconic Fontana di Trevi and the Coliseum, although the two points are smoothly connected by bus, train and shuttle transfers. Terminal 1 accommodates gates B and Schengen flights are operated from here. You must head to this terminal when flying with Alitalia, Luxair, KLM, Hop, Air Europa, Etihad Regional or Air Serbia.
In Terminal 2, you will find some C gates and the boarding gates used for Schengen and non-Schengen flights run by Easyjet, Ryanair, Blue Air, Wizzair and Sun Express.
Terminal 3 also sees the departure of Schengen and non-Schengen flights, in this case operated by Alitalia and Vueling, whose passengers board through gates C, D, H and G.
Terminal 5, used exclusively by American Airlines and El Al, includes an area accommodating the rest of H and G gates with their corresponding air bridges.
Note that the airport provides a complimentary shuttle service for travellers to commute between terminals and from and to the parking lot. If you are either dropping off or picking up someone, you may use the Kiss&Go zone for a maximum of 15 minutes at no cost.

–Buses departing from the arrivals zone of terminals 2 and 3 will take you straight to the Vatican area and Piazza dei Cinquecento, as well as to some of the principal railway and metro stations in the city.
–Taxi cabs in Rome pick up passengers outside terminals 1 and 3 and must be properly identified as official ones. The journey between Fiumicino and the city centre costs 48 euros approximately.
